We’re getting settled into our new place here in Phoenix, though the week did get off to a rough start. Suzy had some kidney stone issues which weren’t too bad, though they did end up causing an infection… which is pretty typical when passing stones. There were some problems finding a doctor to prescribe the needed medication. All that got squared away and things are looking good.
We’ve both off to strong starts with our diets. Being settled in has made it far easier to prepare meals and focus more on eating fruits and veggies. We’re also (finally) officially off of fast food, which is going to be a big help. And then beyond healthy eating, exercise has gotten into full gear. Todd is taking at least one longer walk a day, which is really nice because the area we’re living overlooks the mountains and is quite beautiful.
Then we’re both also doing workouts on the X-box ‘Kinect’ system, which our roommate Crimson has. It’s a really easy way to workout because many of the different activities are structured as games. Suzy doesn’t much care for walking, so she has been more focused on using the X-box… her and Crimson can have a “girl’s workout” that way… but we’re both benefiting, as is Crimson.
The weather is starting to warm up a bit too, and by sometime in March we’ll be able to swim. Looking forward to that!

Friends Update
Didn’t get many updates this week, but we can share that both Jean and Maxine are doing well. Todd has had to make some diet changes because of blood sugar issues… including giving up caffeine… and both girls have been real helpful with their insights there (Jean being a diabetic, and Maxine being a chef).

Glad things are going well. Sorry about the kidney stone issues/I am trying to find easy one dish meals or crock pot meals I can make ahead.
