Today is Love Our Lurkers (LOL) day. For those that don’t know, this special day is organized by Bonnie from My Bottom Smarts. The idea is to show some love to all the silent readers out there. And we know you’re out there! On an average day we get about 2000 visitors… and perhaps 3 or 4 comments. Not great at math, but that means there are a lot of lurkers out there!
You should know that we were once lurkers ourselves too. Yep, we used to go to blogs… and newsgroups… and read, but not comment. Lots of reasons for that. Part of it though was just being nervous about stepping out of the shadows. Seemed like a big step.

I’m not a first time poster – but one hand spank is good for me. Just make it a good one!

I was a lurker here for a long time before I got the courage to make comments and to talk to Todd and Suzy. Now I am a bit more adventurous and comment a lot more that I use to. The first comment was the hardest and it has gotten easier ever since. I would like to encourage anybody who is just lurking to make a comment even if it is to just say “hi”. You never know what will come from it if anything but it is worth it.

Hubby and I have lurked on numerous sites for awhile as we try to find our way. This is the first time we have decided to step out of the shadows and say hello. I did join the diet group but have not officially started yet. We are a fifty something couple that have had many “false starts” along the way,but think we are finally getting on the right track. Your blog and many of the others that you have listed on your site are the main reason for that. So I wanted to say THANK YOU.
We will try to become more vocal but I have to warn you, once I start you probably won’t be able to shut me up.
