We’ve been sharing our recent summer vacation adventures, which included both vanilla and spanking fun.  Today we’re looking at our last day in Wyoming and our adventures in South Dakota and Missouri.

Camping, City Style
After an awesome day in Grand Teton National Park we headed towards Yellowstone.  In between the two parks is a small park called John D Rockefeller Memorial Park.  The plan had been to stay in a lodge there. Several issues came up though.

The cabins were extremely ‘rustic’. A lack of luxuries wasn’t a big deal, but they were real close together so didn’t offer much privacy. They were also pricey… over $200. Given that we’d be checking in a little after 10pm and getting back on the road at 5am, that was just too much to spend.

So, we spent $20 and got a ‘camping’ pass. That entitled us to a parking space with security and access to a full bathroom. Wasn’t that bad though. Sleeping in the car wasn’t exactly a thrill for our middle aged bones, but for one night it was okay. The bathroom was extremely clean too. We were both able to shower and change. Certainly worth the $180 we saved.

Yellowstone
We were on the road bright and early, making it to the Yellowstone gate right as the first rays of the sun were breaking through the darkness. There was no one else on the road so we took a leisurely pace. Not only were the views spectacular, but the sounds and smells were equally impressive. We could almost taste the fresh air. Awesome!

After a good breakfast (we were starving!) we took in Old Faithful. If you’ve never seen a geyser… it goes about like this: You sit and wait for 30 to 90 minutes and then get to watch a bunch of steam shoot into the air with little kids asking “is that it?” lol, yep, that’s it!

There are more impressive geysers in Yellowstone, and the mudpots and hot springs are just as interesting. But, Old Faithful is the big deal. That’s what everyone has heard of. So, we did make sure to get that in.

What really blew us away about Yellowstone was the wildlife though. We had two animals we wanted to see… a wolf and a bear. And then if wasn’t too much to ask, we hoped the bear would be a grizzly. Just not too close!

Well, we got to see a wolf real close up, like a few feet away. Driving down the road in mid-afternoon we spotted an animal walking onto the road. We stopped and realized it was a wolf. It walked right past the side of the car headed for some road kill. Our new/good camera had a dead battery so we had to use the old backup… and thus missed the perfect picture (the old one has a ridiculously long delay). Was pretty cool though! It’s rare to see a wolf in Yellowstone too.

Our old camera worked just fine later when a bear decided to cross the road. Believe it was a young brown bear. Very exciting! Now some people actually got out of their cars and ran ~towards~ where the bear had excited the road. Totally insane. Would *guess* that the bear was on his own… but, lol… what if he wasn’t? What if he was still with momma bear? And heck, what if the small bear felt threatened? lol… we stayed in our car.

It would take several posts to talk about all the bison, deer, elk and antelope that we encountered. Some of them ~very~ close up (we again stayed in the car).

The absolute highlight came late in the day though. We spotted several cars stopped on the side of the road. Not at all uncommon, folks stop when they spot prairie dogs, deer, sheep, bison, etc-etc. We slow to a crawl and glance around… and there on the side of the mountain (several hundred yards away) is a giant grizzly bear.

We pulled off and got a pretty good look (though not a good picture, not close enough for that… so added a stock photo, lol). Was safe to get out of the car this time too. We’ve both been close up to a grizzly in a zoo… and have a couple of extremely close encounters with black and brown bears in the wild… but this was the first wild grizzly we’d ever seen. Great way to cap off an awesome visit to Yellowstone.

Saying Goodbye to South Dakota
We spent a couple of days in South Dakota resting after our trip to Wyoming. Got to spend some more time visiting with Suzy’s grandmother too, which was fun. We checked out a local animal sanctuary. They rescue animals from illegal breeders, cruel zoos and circuses as well as individuals that bite off more than they can chew.

Got to see several bears real close up, some tigers… a lion that lived with a dog (and the dog was the boss). Lots of other animals too. The coolest thing was the mountain lions though. We didn’t get to see any at the National Parks. They don’t usually hang out near the roads.

There were a couple of small children… 3 or 4 years old… taking the tour with us. The guide noted as we walked about to the pen… “watch how they react to the children.” Sure enough, from the corners of the pens both mountain lions followed the kids with their eyes. Didn’t move, just followed with their eyes. Then, when the kids weren’t looking… they mountain lions would creep closer. As soon as eyes were back on them, they’d stop an hunch down.

Then, one of the kids fell down. Both mountain lions RUSHED forward, full speed… ready to kill and eat. Of course, they were stopped cold by the fence. Pretty intense though. We got a huge kick out of it. The mother of the children though, lol… went and tested the fences.

There was more fun in South Dakota. We went to Deadwood, Mt Rushmore and Custer State Park. We’ve included some of those pictures at the end of the post. Had a great time in South Dakota!

Spankopoly in St Louis
The fun we had in South Dakota and Wyoming didn’t make our 15 hour drive to St Louis sound very appealing. But, we had to start for home. We did have some fun to look forward to when we made it to St Louis though… a chance to meet our friend Shy (from Discipline Notes).

We first started talking with Shy several months ago. She stumbled into our blog and Emailed us. After exchanging several messages, we started talking on chat. We both made a nice connection with her. Always fun to talk with, funny, honest… we’d enjoyed getting to know each other.

When it worked out that we’d be in Shy’s home state, we set up a meeting.

Now, Shy is an extremely busy girl. She works two jobs and is busy setting up her newly single life. It worked out where she’d only had time in the later evening, which was perfect for us. Gave us a chance to rest after the long drive and enjoy the hot-tub in our suite (hot-tubs feel sooo good after driving all day).

Shy got to our room right on time. She admitted she was nervous. Probably didn’t help that we had all the spanking implements out on the dining room table.

We had a very nice talk while enjoying some drinks. Will share that Shy is very much a newbie spanko. In fact, at this point… she’d never gotten a proper spanking. Spanking had always been part of sexual play.

To ease into spanking, we played a game of Spankopoly. As always seems to be the case, it took seemingly forever for the first spanking to happen. And, of course, Suzy got the first spanking… and then the second. lol, she is so naughty!

Suzy’s spankings were fast and hard, which caused a little eye bulging from our shy friend. A playfully stern “your turn is coming” got an audible gulp.

Shy’s turn finally did come when she landed on the “Birthday” square… where spankees get 20 spanks. She was very brave though. Without complaint or hesitation she walked over to Todd and waited by his chair. He wished her a smug “Happy 20th Birthday” and guided her over his knee.

20 light hand spanks over her jeans followed. The last 2 or 3 offered some sting, a little sneak preview.

From there, the spankings came quite often. For the first half of the game it was all hand spankings over jeans. Nothing intense. Kept it playful, though Shy shared that she could feel the sensation on her backside and it was “very nice.”

The second half of the game dice were rolled to determine an implement… hand, strap or paddle. Suzy had no luck at all, earning the paddle almost every time. Think that’s called karma or something… lol.

Shy had the opposite luck. She earned hand spankings almost every time. The one time she did get the paddle, it was kept quite playful. Definitely would call these fun spankings. That’s one of the neat things about Spankopoly… you can pick the spanking pace you want.

The game came to end when the time limit ran out. Can’t recall who won … think we all got what we wanted though!

More Spanking
After the game we talked for a bit about what Shy thought. If the spankings were too hard… too light… and, she wasn’t able to offer much more insight than “I liked it.” lol, that was okay though. She was smiling and the atmosphere was extremely relaxed and comfortable. Things were going really well.

So, we asked Shy if she’d like to play a little more… and experience a more proper spanking and perhaps try out some of the different implements. She quickly agreed.

We all went to the king size bed. Todd sat with his back resting on the headboard, Suzy sitting at the side… Shy standing. Todd asked Shy if she’d like to be spanked over her jeans or an the bare bottom. She paused… and Suzy offered, “you can start over pants or panties if you like, and then go from there.” Shy said she’d like to start over her panties and then see.

With that, she pulled her jeans off. Very nice panties,

A little hand spanking to warm things up… Shy reacted very nicely. Suzy picked out some implements and showed them to Shy… sharing things like, “I like this one”… “this one REALLY hurts”… “oh my god, you so won’t like this one.”

Shy obviously preferred the “I like this one” choices over the “oh my god” ones, lol… but she did get to test most of them out.

It was hard to gauge, because it seemed like Shy might be a bit of a harder player… but being so new… didn’t want to push things. Better to keep it fun. So, most of the spanks were light to moderate. There were a few zingers in there though.

After about 20 minutes of spanking, Shy was asked if she’d like to experience a bare bottom spanking. She thought for a moment and then said “yes.” As she said yes, she stood up and demurely pulled her panties off before going back to the OTK position.

Will have to tell her next time that the spanker tugging them down is another possible option.

Shy’s bare bottom was a lovely even shade of pink. She’d colored up very nicely. very nice spanking. Got a little more intense, but still not too much. Shy liked leather more than wood… she especially liked our Boudoir Strap.

After the spanking, Todd put some arnica on Shy’s bottom as she and Suzy chatted. It was clear that the evening could have gone on many more hours. There was lots more fun things to do… and plenty more spanking possibilities. Shy had to get herself home to get at least a few hours of sleep before starting her next day.

We’ll definitely plan it out better next time. As it was though, we both had a great time with Shy. Very sweet girl and we all agreed that minus not having more time, it couldn’t have gone better.

We all exchanged hugs and wished Shy a safe trip home. Luckily we didn’t have to get up so early… so, the spanking and fun continued for several more hours.
