We had a fun Labor Day weekend down in the South Florida. As we mentioned before… Todd’s sister and her husband are working at a healthier lifestyle. They’re doing really well too. Have lost about 30 total pounds.
Not sure if they’re using spanking… but there was an interesting exchange. Todd’s sister was fixing a drink, and adult beverage. Her husband walked by and said, “Not too much – I don’t want to have to paddle you.” Not “spanking” mind you… “paddling.”
Vanillas joking about spanking isn’t all that uncommon. Not so sure about paddling though. So who knows, maybe they do use spanking to help with diet motivation.
This much is sure… it’s really-really helpful to our diet to visit family that is also working on it. In the past, trips down south were pretty brutal. Not only calorie rich meals, but lots of snacks sitting around. Only healthy meals and snacks this time though.
So, our weekend away actually had a positive impact. We did well here at home too. We continued doing our food journals and met our goals each day. Some health stuff got in the way of exercise. Nothing serious… but enough to make pushing it a bad idea. Really need to get a pool.
Nice results at the scale means reward for both of us. Good week!
Want to ask a question this week and we invite anyone to share their thoughts.
What do you do when you’re feeling hungry, but don’t have many calories available to satisfy that hunger??
Diet Friends Update
Carye: Carye had another strong week. She made good diet decisions and she was able to exercise. Feeling better has
been a big help. The scale showed a very nice 2.5 pound loss. Carye is feeling good!
We can share a little extra motivator Carye has right now. Hubby Papa Shrek has given her a weight loss goal for the month. If she makes it… rewards and good girl spankings. If she doesn’t, predictably enough a discipline spanking is earned. However, after that discipline spanking is over… a picture will be taken… and then shared right here in a Diet Update post.
That has got Carye’s butt in gear! We think it’s a great incentive. Have to admit though, as much as we pull for Carye and want her to do well… we would like to see a spanking picture for from her too. So, what to do… lol? We’ll wish Carye luck and see what develops.
_____
Jean: Jean has been super busy getting back into the swing of work. She’s continued doing a good job with her rules though… and we’re real happy about that. A couple of minor things, but overall she’s done a great job the last couple of months.
Looks like we’ll be seeing Jean in early October too… when we’ll see both her and our friend Rose for a day. Then late in the month, we should get to see Jean again. We’re putting together a small spanking party in Ocala. That’s looking really good.
So, should be able to see her two times here in the near future. So hope Jean continues being a good girl!
_____
Italian Gal (from Spanked Italian Gal): It Gal had a minor health scare that put her in the hospital for a few days.
Everything is totally fine now, and she feels great. So, no worries. Wasn’t fun having to be in the hospital though.
On the diet front, being in the hospital didn’t help. IG still have a very good week though. She was down 3 pounds at the scale. Very nice!
Busy week coming. IG will be out of state for most the week, spending time in her hometown. That can create some diet challenges. We do wish her lots of luck. Most of all though… we want her take it easy, be safe and stay healthy.
_____
Courtney: Courtney stayed the same at the scale this week. She’s been doing really well lately, so that’s not a big
surprise. The body will pause like that from time to time. Just have to stick with it… and we know Courtney will.
One thing Courtney has been focusing on is cutting back caffeine. She was actually able to totally eliminate it this last week. She also drank only water. Nothing else. She shared with us that she not only felt great (no more headaches) and had more energy… but, she was a lot less hungry.
That makes sense. Soda, even diet soda… tells the body to digest food. When the body finds no actual food to digest, it triggers a hunger response. So, sticking to water is a solid strategy. Doing a week cleanse with only water is an interesting idea too. Something we’ll consider.
_____
N~ (from Living Domestic Discipline): N~ didn’t us an update this week. Probably busy finishing up her move. We’ll be sure to catch you up next week though.
_____
Iggy (from Perceptions From the Edge): Iggy continues her good girl streak. She followed all of her rules, including getting her water down each day… which is her biggest single challenge.
Unlike the last few weeks though, the scale was kind to Iggy. Down 3.2 pounds. Yes, great news! She stuck with it knowing that number had to move down. Sure feels good when it actually happens though.
Keep up the great work young lady!
_______________
Good luck to everyone in the coming week.

What do you do when you’re feeling hungry, but don’t have many calories available to satisfy that hunger??
*Blueberries (sometimes strawberries too) topped with lemon fat free yogurt
*Grapes
*Pretzels
Right now those are my go-to nibbles. I have no clue what I’m going to do when they go out of season.

NUTS,they are filling and actually help you lose weight! No walnuts though I am SUPER allergic to them, can’t even be around walnut oil! Pecans are fine though.

For me, I find I’m usually only hungry when I shouldn’t be if I’m not “doing” something. So when that feeling strikes I get up and do something that makes eating more difficult…take a walk, get in the shower, go swimming. I typically find after about an 30 minutes I’m not hungry any more AND you’ve furthered your goal by getting a touch of exercise too!
If the need for food is real though, and I know I shouldn’t eat…I go for fruit. Apple slices have saved my diet more than once! Good beef jerky helps too. one serving has about 80 calories and it satisfies the need to chew on something. Jack Links is my favorite.

Ohh, popcorn! I’m a popcorn addict! The Oraville Smart Pop is 30 calories for an entire big bag (like, 6 cups!), and you can get this white cheddar flavoring for like, 1/2 a calorie a serving. . . . . . . or mix Sweet n’ Low with a little bit of cinnamon, and use that as topping. . . that’s close to zero cal, too.
Take fruit, sprinkle some sweet n’ low on it, and put it in the freezer. It gets this wonderful slidey-sherberty texture. . . . . . So good! Works amazing with clementines.
You can also take ice, blend it with diet soda, and make a zero calorie icee. . . . . . That helps, too.
